Wednesday 1/31 saw the return of Chesmont league wrestling and East faced a tough away contest at West Chester Henderson. The Warriors were healthy and down to weight, and they celebrated their seniors before the dual. The atmosphere was hostile, but the Cougars prevailed 34-33 in a barn-burner of a dual that saw plenty of lead changes and multiple bonus points. Christian Fosmire (114), Valen Piff (121), Ricky Jewell (160), and Cade McDowell (172) were able to secure pins, while Felix Mason (215) worked hard for a major decision that would make the difference. Rounding out the effort were Declan McDowell (127) and Adham Abouraya (285) who won minor decisions in hotly contested matches. Although it was not East’s best performance, they got the job done and are ready to move on with one league dual to go next week.
